Glass pineapple ornaments hanging on a Christmas tree may not seem an obvious, festive decorating style but Treasure Tree’s luxury, hand-crafted glass pineapples are always amazingly popular. So many customers love to add this quirky, splash of tropical shimmer to their Christmas tree and either opt for the gold/green pineapple ornament or the all silver pineapple.
The Treasure Tree team originally began making glass pineapple decorations in response to many requests from our American customers. They explained to us that in the USA, a pineapple is a symbol of “welcome and hospitality” as it had originally been associated with royal privilege in the American colonies. Christopher Columbus described the first pineapple that he saw in 1493 as “it looks like a pine cone but has the taste and sweetness of an apple.”
To care for your glass pineapple decorations so that they can glisten on your Christmas tree year after year after year, simply wipe clean with a soft dry cloth and wrap in tissue paper or bubble-wrap. Always store your decorations carefully in a dry place.
